School Tours
School Tours
Thank you for your interest in Rooftop Alternative School!
Our tours are designed to give you a real feel for the school. We hope you’ll get a sense of what it’s like to be a child in our classrooms, halls, yards, and programs, and whether Rooftop is a good fit for your family.
Our school has two campuses: Twin Peaks, which houses grades TK through 4, and Mayeda for grades 5 through 8. All tours will begin with an information session on the Twin Peaks campus. However, not all tours cover all levels. If you are interested in grades 5 through 8, please choose your date carefully.
We have tried to provide flexibility for working parents, making sure at least one Twin Peaks campus tour (grades K through 4), one Mayeda campus tour (grades 5 through 8), and one TK tour (located on the Twin Peaks campus) is available during the lunch hour.
Please read carefully to make sure the grade level you're touring will be included on the date you choose.
Maps and more detailed instructions are included below.

Middle school: On two of these dates, families interested in learning more about grades 5 through 8 will attend the info session on the Twin Peaks campus and then walk (for about five minutes) with a Rooftop parent to meet their student tour guides on the Mayeda campus. That’s right, our middle school campus tours are student-led! Children over the age of 9 may accompany their parents on these tours.
Note: After tour season, we can’t accommodate individual tour requests due to the number of people who want to visit Rooftop School and the disruption tours cause to learning.
Please remember we have two campuses. Maps for both schools are below.
