Rooftop started the Read-a-Thon tradition in Fall 2021, after the Rooftop Run was canceled due to COVID-19.  Watch ParentSquare for a signup link in early Spring. It’s a fundraiser and friendly competition rolled into one, much like the Rooftop Run, but from the cozy comfort of your own home. Using the signup link, you'll create a pledge page and collect flat or per-hour donations from your community. Log your child’s reading (or time you spend reading aloud to them) to add to their classroom total over the event’s two week period. At the end, the class with the highest participation rate from each campus will receive a pizza party, and the top three readers on each campus by time read will receive gift certificates to local bookstores!

All you need to participate is a working email address (check ParentVUE to make sure yours is current). Having ParentSquare access also helps, since that's where we'll send your unique pledge-page link. We’ll pre-fill you pledge page to help with the ask, but you can customize it with a photo and your own message. From there, you're set to invite family and friends directly, or you can share on social media. Watch the donations roll in as our wonderful community supports our kids’ love of reading!
